Charlie is founder of sports game developer First Touch Games and has been a supporter of SpecialEffect since 2011. He, along with other staff from his company, ran the 2011 British 10k for the charity.
“I first came across SpecialEffect in early 2011 when I was still with Exient, and we’d donated a load of games. In truth I didn’t know much about them and the work they did, but donating some games seemed the least we could do. Looking back though, it wasn’t until I had the chance to visit them later in the year that my eyes were really opened to the amazing work they do, and the lives they change.”
“I’ve played video games since the days of the ZX Spectrum and I’ve taken for granted the ability to be challenged, relaxed, and enthralled in equal measures. So when I was asked to be an ambassador I was delighted to accept. Videogames are often portrayed pretty negatively, and the work SpecialEffect does proves (in their words) that games can be a force for good. Most importantly though, they really do change lives, and I’d urge people to check out their videos or track the team down at the various events they attend.”
