SpecialEffect therapist wins Rising Star award

Congratulations to our fantastic Occupational Therapist Sachin Sunil on being named Rising Star in Tech at the recent Thames Valley Tech and Innovation Awards.
Sachin is an occupational therapist in our StarGaze team, helping people in intensive care regain independence and connection after serious injury or illness. He specialises in technology that supports communication and leisure, enabling people with physical disabilities to stay in touch with loved ones and enjoy leisure activities.
The Award Judges praised Sunil for ‘combining technical innovation with deep empathy, creating life-changing accessibility tools that restore independence, connection and joy.’
His expertise has been invaluable right across the charity. He contributes to our BubbleBusters, Eye Gaze Games and GameAccess projects, and he’s the architect behind the interfaces that have previously helped people like Sam use his eyes to enjoy video games.
We’re incredibly proud of all our amazing therapists, whose skills, experience and patience have made life better for so many people, and it’s wonderful to celebrate such well-earned recognition!
