“You find yourself in an environment where no-one knows you’re disabled so everyone treats you the same.”

George Dowell, one of our valued Ambassadors, explains one of the reasons why games are a great leveller for him in this short BBC Tech Now video article for BBC News. He was talking at our Games Room recently as part of a filming day for articles featuring the Microsoft Xbox Adaptive Joystick (XAJ) and a groundbreaking new suite of our Eye Gaze Games that are shortly to be released. The first of these videos, which features the XAJ, is shown here (it may not be available in all regions). Watch out for news about our Eye Gaze Games in July.

It’s always wonderful to welcome beneficiaries and their friends, families and care staff to at our base in Oxfordshire, and the day was no exception. We learn so much from talking together about the wider challenges and successes related to disabled living and accessible gaming, so a huge thank you to George, Alex, Tiago and everyone who accompanied them. We’re grateful to you all for giving up your valuable time and playing a key part in the filming.

Thanks to Xbox for the opportunity to feature in this video, and thanks also to Paul Carter and Suhail from the BBC, George and Patrick from AssemblyInc and James from Edelman for facilitating the filming.
