An online auction for piece of Halo history has raised over £7,700 in support of our work bringing the magic of gaming to people with physical disabilities.

Thanks to the generous support of our friends at Xbox, a section of a gorgeous painting, inspired by Halo Infinite and featuring Master Chief, was auctioned in March 2022 in support of SpecialEffect.

To mark the launch of Halo Infinite in December 2021, Xbox commissioned a 6m x 3m oil painting by famous artist Iva Troj. The Brighton-based 2016 Palm Award Winner and 2019 CAF Artist of The Year created an epic painting which depicts in minute detail a scene inspired by Halo Infinite with a narrative drawing out from the centre, where franchise hero Master Chief writhes in an explosive battle and inspires those around him to take on the enemy. The canvas was showcased in the world-renowned Saatchi Gallery in London over a ten-day period.

Watch the reveal of the entire painting here.

The hero piece of the canvas – including protagonist Master Chief at the centre of the combat – was cut from the original painting, stretched over canvas, signed by the artist, and framed.

We’re indebted to the generosity of Xbox for donating the painting section for auction.
