Volunteers unite at SpecialEffect

Last Saturday 6 May saw us hosting an Open Day for the SpecialEffect Volunteer Squad at our Accessible Games Centre in Oxfordshire.

Volunteers have always played a key role in our events team here at SpecialEffect, whether assisting on stand at Insomnia and EGX or supporting runners at the Monster Race and British 10K. But with more events in the diary than ever before, we have been busily bolstering the ranks this year, as well as putting the finishing touches to our new Volunteer Handbook.

The gathering gave new recruits an opportunity to learn a bit more about the work of the charity, as well as meeting some more experienced members of the team face-to-face. The definite highlight was trying all the different accessible games demos on show, not to mention the never-ending supply of cake and chocolate on offer to power us through the afternoon!

If you’re interested in finding out more about volunteering please get in touch – either via email or give us a call on 01608 692266. Alternatively, please check out the Volunteer Squad facebook group.
