Video Games OT - it's official

It’s official. There IS such a thing as a video games occupational therapist - at least according to Nomi’s sports shirt from last week’s STEMRoller event, a wonderful Roller Derby/STEM Careers Fair mashup in High Wycombe.

STEMroller aims to provide female/non-binary students aged 11-19 with a unique and fun opportunity to engage with female/non-binary professionals all working in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) - but they all play or officiate roller derby!

“It was a great day,” said Nomi, one of our occupational therapists. “The students were able to talk to the players to learn about different career options and enjoy a Roller Derby exhibition match at the same event.”

“There was a lot of interest in the work that SpecialEffect are doing with the teachers as well as the students. And it was great to talk to people about the direct and positive impact our tech and the occupational therapy profession can make on the lives of people with disabilities.”

“I blame SpecialEffect’s @beckyfr0st,” smiles Nomi, “She introduced me to this sport a couple of years ago, and now I love it!”
