Michael's back!

Great to welcome our old friend Michael Cubiss to SpecialEffect this week for his first visit here.

Michael's stroke means that he has no speech and little body movement, so he uses his eyes to communicate. In the image below he's talking to his support staff using an e-tran frame, which is a simple perspex frame with colour-coded groups of letters that he points to with his eyes. And no, it's not that cold in our offices, he'd only just arrived.

He came to discuss some ideas he'd had about our accessible chess software that we're putting together, but while he was here he had a go at using a head-controlled computer to communicate. Below you can see him trying out the technology with Dr Mick Donegan.

Great to see you, Michael, you're always welcome.
