A message from SpecialEffect re COVID-19
Updated and correct as of 17 April 2020
All of us are facing significant challenges as a result of COVID-19, not least the severely physically disabled and vulnerable people that SpecialEffect exists to support. Our thoughts are with all of those who are affected at this difficult time.
We would like to assure the community we serve that we remain committed to fulfilling our core mission and will be continuing to do all we can to help them with their gaming and technology access needs. Although face-to-face visits are not possible at the moment, our dedicated team is carrying on its life-transforming work through online assessments, remote support and equipment provision. We continue to welcome new referrals as well as supporting our existing service users, so please do get in touch via email or through the contact form on our website if you think we can help.
The current situation has also resulted in several major events that were due to take place over the coming months being cancelled or postponed, meaning we won’t be able to meet our friends and thank our supporters as we would usually do. As we won’t be seeing you for a while, please do stay in touch with all the latest news from SpecialEffect via our social media channels, newsletter and website.
We would like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude for all the kind words of support we have received so far and the continued generosity of our supporters. Please look after yourselves and we hope it won’t be too long before we see you again and can say thank you in person.
