Mayor's charity boost

Our CEO Mick Donegan was delighted to receive a cheque for over £1000 this week from Brian Yoxall, the Mayor of the Oxfordshire town of Woodstock from 2012 to 2013.

The charity was chosen as one of the two beneficiaries of the Mayor's Charity, and the funds were raised through a variety of events including the Mayor's Reception, a carol service and a music night featuring the Oxford Youth Big Band.

"After previously working in the disability employment field I know only too well the important role that leisure activities can play in the lives of disabled people." said Brian, "So I was delighted to be fundraising for SpecialEffect as well as the Woodstock Youth Club."

Dr Donegan said, "We're totally reliant on donations to enable us to keep our doors open, and to have support from such a local and well-respected town means a great deal. I'd like to thank Brian and all the people involved in the fundraising efforts for their incredible generosity."
