Karl's back on the pitch

Karl’s tackling hard again in FIFA despite the progress of his spinal muscular atrophy.

He’d previously been able to use a lightened PS3 controller that we’d lent him, but despite some crafty mods by his Grandad, he was struggling to use it. Some fresh thinking was in order.

We focussed on trying FIFA in two-button mode on his PC, and the setup that’s showing the most promise is an spring-lightened joystick fixed to a Velcro tray, with a small switch placed on the front. With another switch for his left hand, he’s now able to play matches again!

Thanks to your fantastic support this year, we’ll be able to provide ongoing help for many more people like Karl get the very best out of their gaming skills.
