Inspirational Rob claims First Class Degree

Just bloomin’ fantastic! Our friend Rob Camm has been awarded a First Class Honours Degree at Bristol University!

Not that anyone who knows Rob should be surprised. Since an accident in 2013 left him unable to move from the neck down, Rob and his team have worked tirelessly to make sure he’s making the most of life, and top University honours is just reward. Watch him receive his award here.

Rob’s been an inspiration both for ourselves and for many people with high spinal injuries. We first met him in hospital soon after his accident and brought along an eye-controlled computer with which he began to regain some independence. You can see Rob talking about the impact of this technology in this short video.

Our small part in his incredible story, which you can follow on his blog campaign4rob, continued as we worked together with him to introduce a combination of a head controlled mouse and speech to control a computer. He’s since become so proficient we’ve asked him here to train our own staff! And of course he's been trying out some games.

In 2015 he was the first tetraplegic to complete a Tough Mudder course in a powered wheelchair, and he was a guest of honour at the winter celebration event last year.

Congratulations Rob - no-one deserves it more!

We met Rob through our StarGaze project, where we use our introduce, support and loan eye-gaze technology when it matters most, right after an accident or illness.
