Helping Antony to play games

Forgot to tell you about Antony, one of the gamers that we helped last week. He has a rare congenital syndrome that makes his left hand and arm difficult to move, so using his Xbox controller is a real problem. Frankie and Joe went over to see if we could help.

“He has good use of the right side of the controller with his right hand index finger,” said Joe, “But the controller kept moving around, so we put it on a lap tray to stabilise it.”

The team found that a PS4 controller mounted by his chin subbed really well for the left analogue stick, and they carefully positioned some small button switches on his tray to act as the bumpers. He also got on really well with a button switch that he can press with his foot for right trigger – great for accelerating in his racing games!

Antony's also a fan of the Telltale games series so we're looking forward to hearing how he gets on with The Walking Dead and Batman!
