Eizo brightens charity image

Children with disabilities can look forward to a brighter future thanks to the generosity of Eizo UK. They’ve donated three professional-quality monitors to SpecialEffect, a charity who are working give everyone the opportunity to play video games, regardless of any disability.

“It’s a fantastic gesture,” said charity Director Dr Mick Donegan, pictured here with the donated monitors. “The demand for our help and support is soaring, and it’s high quality equipment like these monitors that make our work so much more effective.”

The charity help children like Charlotte, a bright, lively five year-old with an enormous appetite for life who contracted an aggressive form of meningitis when she was two, resulting in the loss of all four lower limbs.

SpecialEffect have provided adapted games controllers, one-to-one support and loan equipment to help her to rediscover the vital activities of play and social inclusion that her friends take for granted.

“Organisations such as SpecialEffect do a fantastic job and really make a difference to the lives of the people they help," said Rob Musson, Managing Director of EIZO Limited. "At EIZO Limited we are delighted to be able to provide our specialist monitors to enrich the lives of the people SpecialEffect supports; and we would encourage other organisations to help in any way they can either with equipment or funds.”

“Monitors are a vital link in our equipment chain,” added Mick. “We’re reliant on robust, quality screens to give the people the best gaming experience, whether it’s through a loan or at an exhibition. These monitors have arrived just when we needed them, and we’ll be looking to use them with our cutting-edge eye-control technology for people with very severe disabilities.”

“Our thanks go to the staff at Eizo, and to Natalie and Rob Griffith for putting us in touch.”
