Creative Assembly lift SpecialEffect Soccer Fives Trophy

A team from games studio Creative Assembly came from two goals behind to edge the final of the inaugural SpecialEffect Soccer Fives tournament at Wembley's Powerleague venue yesterday.

Sixteen teams from across England entered our five-a-side tournament, which was held in the shadow of the iconic Wembley Stadium. Despite the unseasonal heat, the squads revelled in kicking lumps out of each other in order to raise funds that will help gamers like Ajay, who has spinal muscular atrophy.

Creative Assembly overcame a spirited Rare team in a tense 3-2 final to lift the new trophy, and Freestyle won the Plate Final. Rebellion were awarded the Fair Play Tournament honours.

We'd like to thank all the players who took part, and given the feedback we've been getting, this is definitely an annual event to register early for. Particular thanks must also go to our fine sponsors Konami, New Star Games, First Touch Games and Gamewagon. Couldn't have done it without you.

And the only team to get a player sinbinned? Yup, our very own SpecialEffect Rangers.
