Cavers, Woodley and Jones announced as VPs
We’re delighted - and excited - to formally announce Carl Cavers, Tim Woodley and Nick Jones as Honorary SpecialEffect Vice-Presidents.
All three have been passionate long-term supporters of the charity and we count ourselves as very fortunate to formally welcome such well-respected leaders in the games and insurance industries to the SpecialEffect family.
Carl is Co-Founder and CEO of Sumo Group plc and has been involved in the making of video games for well over two decades.
“Video games are a wonderful way to enrich the lives of those that play them," he said. "To provide this opportunity to everyone, especially those that might otherwise be excluded without the work of SpecialEffect, is truly magical.”
Tim is the Head of Publishing at Hello Games.
“I’m honoured and humbled to be asked to be a flag-bearer, no, megaphone, for [SpecialEffect] and their work." said Tim. "They are a force for good in the video games world and a positive inspiration for all of us."
Nick is the Managing Director of Focus Oxford Risk Management Ltd. The company are a charity partner and a big supporter of SpecialEffect through the Twin Town Challenge car rally.
"I am truly honoured at being asked to become an Honorary Vice-President of SpecialEffect. I… was instantly captivated at the positive work they do for people, changing lives for the better through play and improved communication."
The trio join games industry leaders including Jo Twist, Tim Schafer, Alan Hartman, John Clark, and Ian Livingstone as Honorary SpecialEffect VPs. The group also includes other field-leaders such as Phillip Selway from Radiohead, Liverpool CEO Peter Moore, and TV tech presenter Kate Russell.
