Boyd and Payne urge you to join our British 10k team

"Knowing that you’re helping people of all ages with disabilities to enjoy the fun of video games makes the kilometres fly by," says Graeme Boyd, Social Marketing Manager at Xbox.

He's talking about the fast-growing SpecialEffect team of runners for the British 10k in London on Sunday 14 July.

"It’s an absolutely phenomenal day out. Fantastic atmosphere, brilliant sightseeing and a real sense of camaraderie among the SpecialEffect runners."

"SpecialEffect do incredible work all year – all we’re doing is running 10k around London."

Runners from Xbox , GAME and IGN are among the 40+ runners already signed up.

"There's plenty of time left to train for what promises to be a fantastic event," said Dr Mick Donegan, our CEO. "Whether you run it, jog it or walk it, it's guaranteed great company, great networking and great exercise. Everyone's also looking forward to our friendly post-run celebration event at a pub nearby."

Andy Payne, the Chairman of the Mastertronic Group, dressed as an Angry Bird for the run in 2012.

"Far from being angry, I loved it, and also loved the fact that SpecialEffect got an enormous team of gamers together who really entered the spirit of it all, I ran with Steve from Minecraft and a Zombie from PvZ. It was a fabulous day all round and I felt privileged to take part for such a good cause."

The organisers charge a £50 registration fee for each runner, and we're hoping that runners raise over £200 each through sponsorship.
