​Battle of the Brands raises over £17,000!

What started as some good-natured banter between rival companies on Twitter turned into a £17,000+ fundraiser this weekend, at the first ever Battle of the Brands esports event!

Steve James from Ebuyer threw down the original challenge last July, calling out other retailers to prove their worth in the competitive gaming arena. Rising to the challenge were teams from Scan Computers, PC Specialist and Overclockers, although the latter had to unfortunately drop out when the event was delayed from December 10th due to the snow. In their place, Box stepped into the breach and the four teams finally gathered at the ESL studio in Leicester for the five-game tournament on Saturday.

After battling it out for 7.5hrs across FIFA18, Rocket League, Tekken 7, CS:GO, Live or Die and plenty of good-natured ribbing along the way, Scan Computers were eventually crowned the winners, ably assisted by pro-gamer Lethal (aka Harry Thomas).

Huge thanks to all the players, sponsors, and donors who made the event such a success, and hats off to the team from ESL who did such a fantastic job of making the event look fantastic and run so smoothly. We’re looking forward to the next one already!
