A big Twin Town 2018 thank you

To everyone who was part of the Twin Town Challenge 2018: You. Are. All. Simply. Amazing. Here’s Dr Mick to sum it up:

“WHAT a weekend! My heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you who have taken part in yet another incredible Twin Town Challenge. Whoever you are, whether you’re on the organising committee, a volunteer, a sponsor or a participant, take a bow.”

“SpecialEffect are being asked to help more and more people through technology each and every day, and your wonderful, generous support will enable us to help so many more.”

Over a late May weekend, 100 cars costing less than £500 travelled to from Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire to France and back in four-day extravaganza of challenges and track events to fundraise for us. The cars and teams did the 'movie' theme proud, and the quiet French town of Le Touquet witnessed a weekend invasion of Smurfs, Power Rangers, musketeers, sumo wrestlers and a host of Disney characters.

Organiser Brendon Cross, Managing Director of STL Communications said “The sight of 100 cars, 400 people in movie-themed fancy dress, not to mention over 50 volunteers, as they headed off to France was quite a sight to behold. Once in Le Touquet they enjoyed a fabulous programme of events including a day at Abbeville circuit and a street party with live bands.”

This year's Twin Town Challenge has already smashed its fundraising target and the organisers are now hoping they might reach half a million pounds. The final figure will be revealed at ‘Le Grand Ball’ at Heythrop Park on 7 September. Tickets are still available: email support@twintown.org.uk
