Roadshows - GameOn4Everyone June Update
The SpecialEffect Roadshow team are half way through the 2010 GameOn4Everyone Roadshow Project. The Project has been funded by generous donations and grants from; The Oxfordshire Community Foundation Sport Relief Funds, GamesAid, The Dragon Christmas Sale and The Elizabeth Jane Foundation.
The 2010 GameOn4Everyone Roadshow Project is a crucial resource for SpecialEffect research and development as well as being about having fun, playing games and being creative. SpecialEffect try to make each Roadshow different and the clubs that have been visited so far this year have had themed evenings, competition nights and even a carnival Roadshow for a primary-aged group.
The SpecialEffect Roadshow team continually spend time researching and developing games for the Roadshows using the new equipment bought from the 2010 funding. After trailing the games at the Roadshows the team then use the knowledge gained to improve and develop the accessibility of the games and access methods to help future Roadshow users and all the users involved across the SpecialEffect projects such as Game4Helen, Stargaze and Gamebase.
So what’s next for the SpecialEffect Roadshows? For the next six months the Roadshows will continue to cover Oxfordshire and the Thames Valley area by going into new clubs and hospices. Then for 2011 we hope to expand the region we work in to cover more of the country and also hold Roadshows at the SpecialEffect centre in Oxfordshire for individuals and groups who are able to visit.
The future for Roadshows is exciting and SpecialEffect will continue to help disabled children and young adults to play, to create and to have fun!
Our Special thanks to our dedicated Roadshow volunteers who make the Roadshows possible.
