December update

17 December 2009

SpecialEffect are once again teaming up with EventAid to produce an exciting Events Calendar for with plenty of challenging fundraising events. While Christmas is the time to pile on the pounds, the New Year is the time to make resolutions and get fit. So, THIS New Year, join up with SpecialEffect, pick a challenge, get fit and fundraise!

Cheques in just in time for Christmas: in the last couple of months there have been a few fantastic fundraising events going on around the county for SpecialEffect. On the 12 November Steph Chapman and her ladies organised a ladies night in Shellingford in aid of SpecialEffect. Andrew Baker from Play2Give and Alison Russell organised a celebratory evening for his hard work and fundraising efforts for the Oxford Children’s Hospital.

Oxfordshire Community Foundation Award: SpecialEffect were awarded a £3,500 from Oxfordshire’s Sport Relief money to go towards Roadshow Equipment. We are currently putting together a plan for Roadshows in 2010 and will be ordering the most up to date computers and games for our Roadshow Gamers!

Specialffect Dinner: James Jeynes, the Father of one of our Stargazers, Lewis, passed on information about us to the UK ACE Association who, in turn, held a charity dinner in aid of SpecialEffect last month. They raised an amazing £655 from the evening! We are immensely grateful to them for choosing us.

We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and would like to thank you all for helping SpecialEffect to go from strength to strength. We hope to work with many of you again in 2010 and continue to receive everyone’s much appreciated support.

Mick, Pam, Nick, Bill & Sally
